dart gun

I enjoyed the movie, but the dart gun in the end was a silly addition.

reply

Maybe, but it's not silly if the Marshalls were also in on the con job and needed to "dispose" of Dell without killing him (or pretending to kill him) to give Joe Ross the impression that the matter was now at an end.

reply

i think the original poster meant that why use a rocket launcher size dart gun when they could have used a hand held gun looking dart gun.

i agree with the OP ...it was strange.

reply

Well, the whole movie was strange.

I'm positive that the dart was fake and had no sedative on it and that Dell was faking being out. It was all a big joke played on the audience--just like the entire movie.

reply

I agree; the rifle was way over the top and a pistol at such a short range would have sufficed.

Besides, I'm not even sure that any LEO use dart guns to apprehend their suspects! Spy agencies, yes, but not your average, uniformed LEOs.

No one uses "dart guns" for any reason. Why: Massively ineffective. Ever even seen nature films where they have to tranq a tiger or something? It takes minutes to fall asleep. And dosage is a pain. And so on.

There is NOTHING like the TV/Film instantly-effective, totally-safe tranquilizer gun, at all.

IF you wanted to tranq something, the way the darts work they are massively more effective in a rifle. Not sure you can usefully fire one out of a handgun sized airgun at all.
