Not only that, but her acting is absolutely atrocious in this movie. She was the only weak link to an otherwise masterpiece of a con-thriller.
Also...
The US Marshalls were NOT part of the con. Anyone that claims otherwise is just looking too much into this movie.
Lastly, the only plot hole I see was Jimmy Dell's presence on the ferry boat at the end. There is no way he could have gotten there so quickly.
She comes across that way in other films to me...I think its a Mamet style and her style...if you watch the film with Gene Hackman and Danny Devito (Heist)with her in it its practically the same exact character from The Spanish Prisoner. Thats a Mamet story also. She has a certain style of speaking which fits well for Mamet...actor Ricky Jay and her are very similar in style and manner of speech. They are practically a male/female version of each other.

well lets be honest here...if it wasn't for her husband Ms Pidgeon would never get any work. Shes such an awful actress every time I see her name attached to a movie I think " oh please God no " .
