So how in the hell was he rehired?? seems a tad unrealistic. I wish it had been explained better. He mentions its because of his dilligence that he was rehired but realistically i dont see that mattering much since he beat up a supervisor. thoughts???

Teri was a big shot attorney and had just made partner, so she had connections and was able to pull strings to have Lem released and get his old job back. This is mentioned in the last dinner, when Lem informs everyone that he got his job back. He assumes it was because of his work ethic, until Teri puts a damper on things by taking credit for his release and re-employment, saying someone owed her a favor.

Just rewatched the film. It's still seems kinda unrealistic that he would be rehired at the same place where he attacked a superior. Maybe if Terri said she pulled strings to get him hired at a similar plant, it would've made more sense.

Her being an attorney could say that someone from upper management harrassed an employee about wanting to have relations with his wife. Either re-hire or face being sued.
