Sorry, but hands down THE best scene is when Vanessa L Williams chases her ex with the knife. I should have done that to my ex. But that chase would have been successful!

How ironic that that little boy(I can't believe I just forgot his name) gets them to all come over because he said he had Big Ma's money and then, at the end it ended up truly being found!

that is the best scene in the movie .That and the ending where they are all at the table and Bird tells Teri to mind her bussiness and worry about her own husband and why he is sleeping with Faith . LoL i love that movie
yeah i agree on that, teri needs to mind her own business, attorneys are not perfect neither as her. teri was the stupid one on that movie, she the one who got big mama dying. i mean she was just as stupid like she was on the movie Set it off. As for the Best scene, I liked the one at the Skating rink part in the 70s and teri caught miles in a classy car with another woman and her and the woman BRAWL<

When Miles' group, Milestone performs. Each singer makes the most of their movie moment, and Babyface looks melancholy yet cool. He probably wrote that song "Girl, I care about you..."
When Maxine talks to Ahamad after his basketball game, relating to him on his own level, being hip and maternal at the same time. Cool!
And finally, when Maxine talk "legaleese" to her lawyer sister, issuing her a Cease and Desist order, sounding all professionale.
Okay, okay, let just say I loved the whole movie! Hee hee!

I dunno rlly cuz this is such a great film. i like it wen the guy is singin in the group cause k-ci and jojo are in the group and they are such talented singers i love most of there songz and my favourite song of all time is all my life

I would have to agree that the best scene in the film is where Terri chases after Faith with the butcher knife after finding out Faith had sex with Miles. It was funny, but not out of the realm of reality for a woman to react that way in such a situation.

Vanessa Williams' character was definitely a bitch. I loved the way she got Lem beat up and then when she got him released from jail, she wanted everyone to pat her on the back and tell her how wonderful she was. I didn't blame Miles one bit for having sex with Faith.

My favorite part is when Byrd walked in the house and saw Maxine cooking and she knew that she had been tricked, I know she was embarrased.
I also liked when all 3 girls were in the kitchen cooking and even though they were kinda mad at each other they just cooked and didn't say anything. It goes with that saying if u don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, that scene was so powerful even though they didn't say anything at all.
Agree. I am not overweight, although I could stand to lose a few, but I love good food be it soul food, seafood, or whatever and I found the scene when they were cooking my favorites! I love seeing loved ones together enjoying good food and I remember seeing someone's hands making the pinches around the pie dough and someone dropping the dumplings into a pot of broth during this scene. (I'm starting to hate myself right now) and when they poured that creamy macaroni and cheese into the pan I had to call my Mom pleading for a Sunday meal! Just watching them pass all of that goodness around the table was so worthwhile to me.

I liked when bird and her hairstylist friends came over to the house and caught lem home, and the gay guy was beating up lem, and bird started hitting him, and He was like what you hitting me for? LOL
I also liked the scene between maxine and bird in the bathroom, that was sweet.
I love it when that guy that got out of prison and married into the Soul Food family jumps that pervert talking about his wife. I almost fell off the chair cracking up because I was just WAITING for him to loose his top and do that because ive seen the same actor in other movies and he always gets pissed off by what someone is saying and just decks him for it. Rofl.
