What Does 'Set a Woman Back 3 Days' Mean?

Hi -

When Helen walks in to find Jerry in bed with Lydia, Jerry is naturally horrified and stops making love to her (Lydia).

Helen is in shock and says, "You shouldn't just stop that way - you could set a woman back 3 days doing that."

What does she mean by this?

My apologies in advance if it means something crass, but I honestly can't decipher the meaning.

Thanks!

To set someone back just means to delay something, for example "i was doing really well with my diet but that take-away meal set me back a week" meaning it's at least another week until I get on track again.

I can only assume that in this case she means because the woman didn't get her orgasm, it'll take 3 days to get back to that state of mind.

Setting her back 3 days from her menstrual cycle.

her menstrual cycle? how does not having an orgasm affect that?

reply

It doesn't. As we all know (except for drellacastie), if not having orgasms prevents periods, then the human race would die out in record time.
