I don't know it exists. The one I have is 2 hours and 53 minutes and I bought it 4 years ago in FNAC (Paris).

I hope it's eBayable I would be very interested to see the longer version.

Definitely one of my favourite movies as well!

It is available in region 2. But the DVD (or at least the one I have is 2:53.

I've spent a ridiculous amount of time searching the web, including Russian, Spanish, and other foreign DVD distributors, for a copy of the uncut version. As far as I can see, there aren't any legit copies available (nor bootlegs, which I don't condone anyway). The user comment offered by the imdb user from Madrid, as well as a few articles I've come across, indicate that such a version was only ever released as a limited cinema distribution. I beleive that the "Russia TV" length refers to this version. The handful of native Russians I know own copies of the 180 minute cut and were not aware of any longer version shown on TV.

1999 Cannes Film Festival Diaries
Day 1 (Part II)
by Henri Béhar

CANNES, Wednesday, May 12 - later.
Starring Julia Ormond, Richard Harris and Oleg Menshikov, The Barber of Siberia is a three-hour-long, lushly romantic epic (read: with tons of music). And that's the short version. Released in Russia earlier this year in a six-hour version, it has, according to director (and co-producer) Mikhalkov, made in a couple of months more than Titanic.

You might want to type that web address into babelfish to translate it into English.

I sent TriT an e-mail inquiring about the series, but the message was in English and I haven't received a response.
