shiloh is so scrummy! We had to the read the book and watch the movie in school.This movie is beyond stupid! Who agrees with me?

Haha I love your reply. I don't care what anyone says this movie was so cute. I loved this movie. I cried when the dog was getting hit. The first person who said this movie was Corny, It's an illiterate imprudent and has a lack of ignorance. This movie was so cute. I'm thinking about adopting another dog, It's defiantly going to be a beagle male and the only name suitable for a beagle male is Shiloh. I loved this movie..5 *****

we indeed did buy a male beagle, although it was last year, many after I had seen the movie. He too has the big floppy ears and the run only a beagle can have. Although, his name isn't Shiloh, its Humphrey...

I just wonder how many other people ran out and got Beagle's for their kids after they saw this movie? Then when the kids tired of them they dumped the dogs in shelters.

I know my aunt (much to my dismay) went out and bought her two daughters (8 and 10 at the time) a beagle after they saw this movie in '97. That poor dog last about two months there before they got tired of it (tired of the dogs hunt drive, constantly cleaning up after her, feeding her/watering her, etc) and my aunt dumped the dog.

SERIOUSLY SAD HOW PEOPLE THING ANIMALS ARE DISPOSABLE ITEMS!

We did the exact same thing but I actually kind of liked the movie. I loved the addition to Sam - it was really sweet, but I think a lot of lame things are sweet. The Marty and Sam relationship is just something for the suckers like me.

Well movies like this are corny. And if a movie has a kid who love a dog, its gotta be a bit corny. Corny can be good sometimes, not always though. If this was corny, so was Edward scissor hands, Titanic, The martian child & Romeo & Juliet.

I found "Edward Scissorhands" and "Titanic" corny almost to the point of being unbearable. As for "Shiloh," I just found it heartwarming. I don't know the ages of the people posting here, but judging from their grammar skills, the adults liked this film more than the kids.

It seems when children are forced to read something for a class, they lash out. But children grow up (most of them, at least), so maybe when they're adults they'll appreciate this film.
