first five minutes

Ok so I watched the beginning on tv and saw that Robin's character was "taken" by Gandolfini, meanwhile she gets slapped around. Then later we see him in her apartment talking like they are buddy buddy again, what the hell did I miss? He even said that she "wanted" him to do that.
