share*beep* please it's all publicity
shareThe ban remained in effect until 2016 with Allied, the ban was then lifted because Allied was partially financed by the Chinese company Huahua Media. China missed out on the bulk of his stardom!
shareI didn't know you could get banned in China for making such a bad movie. haha...
Okay, Seven Years is not that bad.
Actually, I didn't know Pitt was banned over this movie. And apparently, according to this article, he was also banned from a a Chinese social media website. https://www.techinasia.com/brad-pitt-banned-china-sina-weibo
That being said, I caught this movie the other day and found it to be less than stellar. Something seemed rather off with the editing and the sets and whatnot. This might have been a rush job maybe? I don't know but this is just an average film. I recently saw The Last Emperor, which is also a film that takes place in Asia, about the last emperor of China that lived in The Forbidden City. I found it to be quite a bit better than 7YIT.
Ohhh well, this wasn't too bad, I'll give it a 5.5 out of 10.
Anyone who spoke in favor of Tibet back in the 90s', when it was trendy, is banned in China.
