You could tell she really studied Selena's nuances and movement. Even the butt was exactly alike hers.

I couldn't imagine anyone else playing this part.

JLO truly was great in this movie. Salma Hayak was up for the role,even though she is a better actress than JLO I could not see her as Selena
The directors made the right choice

JLO was nominated in the Golden Globes for being a best actress this movie, but even if she didn't win, JLO had some success.

I know JLO did well singing this song, even Selena would have survived singing this song:
