I suspect the 2000 is for the video release, even though this was screened in 1998 at Sundance. Did this even play in theaters other than at Sundance? It looks rather "direct to video (via Sundance)" to me ... not that there's anything wrong with that.

It was shown at Sundance in 1998, and then shelved. It went direct-to-video later once Julia Stiles became more famous.

Thanks for the explanation. That makes perfect sense. I suspect the only people seeing this now are those curious about Julia Stiles' earlier work (as I was).
