I was referring specifically to the fact that several governors are saying they won't take refugees.

All the media stuff was true before this movie was ever made.

The Syrian refugee crisis makes me think of this movie as well.

Don't, America is still way more united than the European Union. I don't think Britain or France can ever go to war with Germany again but Greece certainly got *beep* for good.

Trump's controversial Muslim band and the resultant chaos it has caused certainly spring to mind as something similar to the chaos created by the Idaho governor's refusal to allow Pakistani refugees into his state. Moreover, the depiction of the president as an incompetent buffoon who's controlled by his cabinet and lobbyists likewise ties in the current perception of Trump as a clueless puppet whose strings are being pulled by Steve Bannon.
