The racism from Jada Pinkett Smith

Pathetic *beep* Imagine if a white person said: "Who cares about those black babies being aborted all the time by their drug addicted mothers, they won't grow up to be productive anyway." Then everyone would cry.

But since it's negative words for a white person it's accepted.

A bright light can hollow the deepest of nothingness.

Yeah, I don't think Jada criticizing white people acting dumb in fictional movies quite equates to that.

Nevertheless, her comment was ASININE...

(Paraphrased) "No, I'm gonna tell you what it is: it's just a dumbass WHITE movie, about some dumbass WHITE kids, gettin' cut the *beep* up."

What the actual *beep*? Did she not realize it was a *beep* true story? What did she expect? For them to tell the story with all black people instead white people? Ridiculous *beep*

"My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at meee..." Stu

Apparently not. She has a reaction when the girls at the concession stand say it really happened in California.

Of course I noticed that too. It wasn't much of a reaction, but I now think it's reasonable to say that the entire purpose of the scene was to justify her snotty comments.

Nevertheless, I don't give her a pass for her ignorance -- any more than she would give me a pass for being white. 

"My life is not your business, and your life is not my fault."

Lol. I really don't think she hated white people, any more than Sidney hated girls with big breasts. It's also worth noting that her whole spiel was mainly a front to hide the fact that horror movies scared her.

Yes, that was my impression as well. Besides, her own boyfriend was mocking her, so I don't think we should take it that seriously either.

reply

Hmmm. I didn't think that it was any of this as much as it was the fact that these movies are supposed to be meta. The first one Sidney makes the comment about the big breasted girls, because 80's horror was full of big breasted girls doing exactly that.

I thought that this was more of a commentary on the 'token black' character who usually dies first trope. Which they did. How many horror movies aside from Get Out have a cast of African Americans? Horror movie casts (especially from the 80's) were almost all white teenagers, who did stupid things, and died.

it's never Joan Van Ark- Marge Simpsons

reply

No, Maureen is not a Sandra Bullock fan. Phil simply suggested to go and see the Sandra Bullock movie instead.
