It was originally aired on Austrian television. So I guess that's a yay.

Yes, Haneke mentioned that in an interview. And on my DVD I can see a bit of two perforation holes at the left corners of the picture. So it must be Super16mm, which is usual for television movies in Europe. The grain also looked like S16 (here on imdb you read that it's shot on 35mm negative...I don't think so).
