I just visitied Rosewood this weekend

I had to see it with my own eyes. There is nothing there except the merchants house and well. I asked a few questions and was told, they wiped out the entire town. The Divison of Forestry has a fire tower built right where the town used to stand. There are no cemetaries. They have people living in the merchants house with a dog. You can't even go up and look at it. I took pictures from the road. I do have the pics that we took. Anyone interested, email me and I will send them. Also we took pics of the engine part of the train that took them from Roeswood to safety. It is located in Levy County. [email protected]

I really enjoyed being there and it brought tears to my eyes. The feeling of standing there were you know the horrific things that happened..

I have to see the film now because my mother just told me that my Aunt Louise was there. She died at the age of 108 and didn't tell us about what she went through until one night she told my mom. I knew my family on my dads side was from Florida but not much more. My Aunt was one of the few who made it out alive but there was definitly something dead inside of her. We always knew it, now we know why.

She died before the film came out.

I don't even know if the film did justice to how messed up the town became. EVERYTHING is gone. How the hell could someone do that?

I haven't seen the film, but from what I have seen they took some liberties with the events. This is one they should have played close to the vest, something this horrific should be told as is. BTW, if you look up Rosewood,FL on wikipedia it has a link to send you to the Google earth of the site. If you go to streetview you can see the well and house.

I sure wish I could go back in time and camp out at the Carrier house with a minigun.
