I met Mira Sorvino at the Kentucky Derby Gala this year.

I volunteered for the Kentucky Derby Gala this year and got to rub elbows with some celebrities-- I met Diego Klautenhoff, John Elafante from The band Kansas, Dennis DeYoung from Styxx (all three were the Coolest guys ever) Robin Thicke (A pretentious *beep* and finally, Ms. Sorvino. She was a little shy and a little quieter than I expected but still cool enough to take a photo with me. I told her that my Mom and my sister watched Romy and Michelle's High School reunion literally every night that it aired in cable, which is true. She said to me, "Well, hopefully, it wasn't too torturous of an experience for you."

Fun story. I wonder why she isn't proud of the movie? Yes it's cheesy & belongs in the 90s but it's become a cult classic & is a fun reminder of that era, especially for 90s kids like myself. It's weird when you meet celebrities who were a part of your childhood, as an ex journalist I've also rubbed shoulders with a few when doing interviews, at press events etc. You remember back to whatever it was you watched them in & think how back then you never thought you'd be stood there opposite them in the future.
