Elvis wasn't God!

To Stephen Verhaeren who wrote 'This is not a comedy. There is nothing funny in this movie'. That's the problem!! It's an 'Elvis Fantasy Movie' and not only isn't it funny but there isn't much humor! Except when Bridget Fonda sings and impersonates Marilyn Monroe's 'You'd be surprised' (quite well, I'd say) and when Harvey Keitel sings his Elvis song when he is scared to death! I laughed a lot and thought it was, with Monroe's, the best parts of this movie. Keitel does this song with a touch of humour that makes it great! I have much prefered the 'Heartbreak Hotel' movie than this one. Has someone noticed how thin Fonda is when she plays Monroe and how fat she is when not? What's the problem, there?!!! Another thing: If Elvis was truly the King of Rock'n'Roll he wasn't God! It seems a lot of his fans think the contrary! Bunch of fools!

Well I am quite surpised that you wrote a message directed to me, when you could have PM it to me, and I would have seen it faster, sorry I am not on these boards a lot, or do I have it booked (as of now) in my favorites, but I might just have to now, and was thinking out loud about it, of course to myself. Well looking at the main boards of this movie, it is liosted as a drama, and how did you pick up my real name, I don't think I used it here to much, you might have looked at my profile for that. And are you talking about my post from Febuary, that was on, way before this post?

Okay, now, I remember. Your name was written in the "user comments" section where you had express a résumé of the movie's story and your point of view of the movie. That's it.

Yeah, you're right, Elvis wasn't God...But...He was ordained by God to bring
God's style of rock'n'roll to us Earthlings.

Certainly you've heard of the Holy Ghost...Well, that IS the King.
Elvis lives!

It is written...

joly, I'm not sure why you are being so negative in your commentary. Elvis was a man, and even the best of men are flawed! He made mistakes and did things he should not have done. He also suffered from some of the same demons as all of us do. However, he should be remembered for his talent and his generousity, for the good man that he was. And his fans should not be so ridiculed by people like you for their devotion.

Yes. I am disappointed in many Elvis fans. Vacuum cleaners with big sucking mouths who only want Elvis ELVIS ELVIS ELVIS. If it was revealed Elvis hoaxed his death to get away and have a normal life these are the same fans who would hate him for that. They'd not understand in a million years how he could possibly live a full life to a grand old age without them and all they'd do is demand records and endless shows or they'd threaten to burn Graceland and snap every CD and picture they could find in stores.

This is what they are like. But hotdamn Elvis loves them all the same.
