Tsai Chin

I saw this film last night on British TV. It's hard to reconcile the hard-faced Chairwoman of the trial with the lovely actress who was in quite a few British films of the late 50s/early 60s. Well done, Tsai Chin, for reviving your career late in life.

I recently found out that Tsai Chin was in fact 'Ling', one of the first Asian Bondgirls, in the JB movie You Only Live Twice where he gives Sean Connery 'a very best duck'.
Even more amazing that she will also appear in the next JB movie Casino Royale, I don't think many actors appear again in a JB movie besides the 'normal extras' such as M & Q.

Well, a lot of them do, but we don't realize it unless we just happen to catch on, or go to IMDB.

I'm not going to say some of their names or their character names. I'll just describe who some of them are and in which movies they were in. Then you'll deo what I did and slap yourself in the forehead and say, "Of course there was him."

The Russian general who denied the incident ever happened in Octopussy was the same general in The Spy Who Love Me and For Your Eyes only. He was also, as a young man, in From Russia with love as the commander of the boats who chase Bond and the young Russian just before the end.

The guy who was commander of the American nuclear sub in The Spy Who Love Me was a launch supervisor in Diamonds are Forever, and was the supposed real Hilary Bray in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. (Bond being the guy who assumes his character as he goes to ferret out Blofeld.)

The guy who was Mr. Slumber the mortician in Diamonds are Forever, was one of the guys in the summit scene of ambassadors at the beginning of You Only Live Twice.

The guy who was Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever is the guy who was knifed in the back through the shoji in You Only Live Twice.

The same actor played Felix Leiter in the latest Casino Royale and Quantum of Silence. Another actor played Felix Leiter in Live or Let Die and Licence to Kill.

And on and so forth.
