Actually it's a short story by Clive Barker called "The Body Politic"
This story was released in it's anthology simultaneously on Audiobook,
and while this is not uncommon anymore, this one was done radio theatre style
with a supporting cast, background score, etc.
It is this "nuanced" version" repleat with "squeaky talking hands" etc.
upon which the episode is based. minor changes include the lead character
working as a plastic surgeon, etc..
I must tell you, it was extremely creepy to hear the first time and well written enough to really induce horrifying mental imagery and a sense of true doom for us all......
Had the filmakers had more integrity and produced more visceral and organic crawling hands than the disney animated style Addams Family "Thing" I do think the episode would've reached "George Romero creepy"....sigh....
Hope this helps...
