I wish I had Sirius...

... just so I could hear what Howard had to say about Imus getting fired.

The only reason for getting Sirius, for me, would be to listen to Stern, but I really can't afford it right now. Crap!

He and Fred were on fire for those two weeks, it was great! FYI, it really isn't all that expensive; I think I spent $70 or so dollars for a Sirius "Plug and Play" unit with a 3 month subscription.

reply

Aww man! I bet it was funny as hell!

What kinda stuff did they say? :)

its not a good idea to get sirius for him alone. i like the rap and r&b stations plus the comedy channels. the show is live monday-thursday and he takes a week off a month. when he's off, they play his old shows that were on regular radio.

reply

$13/month for 200 channels of content is nothing. Even if you don't listen to Howard it's worth it. For the commercial free music alone it's worth it. If you are into sports you probably already have Sirius. If you drive any amount of time you will never go back to regular radio if you try satellite.

reply

Well, I don't drive, and I'm not into sports, but commercial-free sounds real good. I effing HATE commercials.

reply

If you hate commercials, get Sirius. I listen to it all the time. It is so nice to not be interrupted every song.

reply

Agreed, Sirius is great. Bought it just for Howard and I was surprised how much I loved everything. Never going back to terrestrial radio.

But if you really can't afford it, they have pretty good recaps of the show on howardstern.com

I don't have a car either. But I have an S50 (recording iPod type device) with a home dock. It hooks directly to my computer and I can run the line out to my stereo. When I'm at work I use the free online service. Not having a car is no excuse to miss Howard :D

reply

Sirius is amazing. Obviously not just for Howard, But every channel you can think of uncensored and commercial free.

I'm a subscriber with two radio and I listen online. I'm all about Howard on Sirius and it's great music selection...Since I got the Stiletto, I have even been sampling the other talk shows more and more. It's worth it. You could easily replace cable and be much more entertained!

I really liked the Sirius radio content. The radios themselves are another story. They are VERY cheaply made and break often. Mine, which just sat on a counter not moving ever, broke after 2 years.

When I called Sirius about it they told me that 2 years was a good lifespan for their equipment. Sheeh, they cost over $200 and are expected to break in less than 2 years??!! I still have old am/fm radios from 20 years ago and they work just fine to this day.

If you want to listen I suggest just getting it on the net and not buying the Chinese made junk radios.
