Who else thinks that the character, Russell Schuster, a COP, was an outright child molester??? What a perverted creepy character. Gross.
shareHow was he a child molester? Claire Danes' character of Hala is at least 17 or 18 and he was supposed to be maybe 21 or 22. He was friends with her brothers. Perhaps if she was 14 or 15, maybe, but she was frolicking with a sailor in the first scene who had to have been 18 or 19. What gives?

Where was it revealed Hala was 15? I don't recall that scene. Her mother said that she herself met Hala's father when the mom was 15...but I don't recall anyone mentioning Hala's age.
I would think Hala would HAVE to be at least 16...because I don't think you can drop out of school until you are at least 16... (at least in Most states...If not All).
Sorry her character was only fifteen. She's a high-school drop out.
