What is the monster at the end (Spoilers)

Can anybody help what does the creature turn out to be in the end is it the devil or some scientific experiment or something else

reply

Chaos... chaos in the flesh.

pretty much a gigantic amoeba

This is very much like the mythos books. The creature reminds me very much like Cthulhu. Research it and watch the movie again. You will see what I mean. The insanity factor was another reason it was like mythos.

reply

Yeah.... Or just read the bloody book where it is explained.

reply

Read the book. Everything is explained.

On the other hand, if you mean H.P Lovecrafts Cthulhu mythos, you are very much wrong. This thing has nothing similiar to Cthulhu, Soggoth maybe but not Cthulhu.

reply

That remind me of tsatoga in H.P.Lovecraft Chtulu mythos

reply

It's chupucabra .....

If you mean the idea that there are creatures we don't understand/can't understand so we think they are scary monsters? I'd buy that. I thought of the mythos too while I was watching it.

It's just something that lives within the bowels of the earth and comes up every now and again to eat anything and everyone when it feels like it (even the dinosaurs). It's neither the devil nor an experiment gone wrong.

It's a creature and it's ANCIENT and it's EVIL, smart and timeless. It's like liquid, gooey, can shapeshift to copy or impersonate, fast moving/flowing and unmeasurable in length. It learns and is heartless and even toys with us till it loses interest.

Bottomline, none of us are ever really safe if it wants to come up for a gobble.

Fear it!

How is an animal eating 'evil'?

It's hungry so it eats.

Of course if you happen to be it's dinner then that pretty much screws up the rest of your day planner but that's life I guess.

reply

The Ancient Enemy itself was not originally evil because of its nutritional need to feed, it became evil after acquiring sadistic tendencies from all the human minds it assimilated.

Granted it used to be an animal, but that's no longer the case when the protagonists encountered it.

in the book it was a creature that had lived in the earth and ocean for millions of years. It only came up to feed every so often but when it did there would be mass disappearances and in the book they give historical dates to back up the story. Basically its a million old creature that can change its shape.

And it's made of petroleum so petrol eating bugs can kill it

It's like a giant amoeba, but it's petroleum based so can be killed by bacteria like they did but they did not use enough.
