Weird sound effect audio

Watching this on Netlix and most of the sound effects have a comb filtered, echo effect on them. The cocking/racking of guns, water dripping, smashing open doors, loud jump scare sounds and background noises but the score and dialog sound normal. Man it's seriously annoying. I can't remember if this has always been the case because I haven't seen it in so long.
