i can't believe jack lemmon stands up whoever played vivian. to me they shouldn've put that part in. when i first saw this movie, that part made me want to reach into the t.v. and shake jack screaming are you nuts! lol i have out to sea on dvd and i still wanna do that everytime i watch it

Yeah, but still he got the worlds worst guilt trip by that nurse making him recall the last memory of his wife and how he told her that he would always love her. No wonder he did what he did then.

Vivian is definitely the type of woman you'd want for a grandmother.
