Rhames literly becomes Don King in this movie!

Sometimes you're not sure if its Rhames or DK. Kind of reminds me of Steve Railsback playing Charles Manson in Helter Skelter.

Ving deserved every ounce of that golden globe. And had this of been a bigger movie, released in the theaters, he should have been nominated for the Oscar too.

It's funny how small this movie actually was. Did you know they filmed the WHOLE thing in L.A. for 31 days?

One of the most amazing portrayals ever.. he absolutely deserved an Oscar nomination for this.
I swear I did not even recognise it was Ving (or forget) and just amazed at this character.. amazing.
At the end I 'realised' it was Ving and just amazing.
This goes down as one of the most UNDERrated starring roles in recent history.

Absolutely one of the best performances ever in a sports-themed movie. These guys seem to agree:

It made #37 all-time.

In many of the scenes in which Rhames does the movie's narration and plays King as an elderly man, a former female co-worker of mine tried to contend that this was actually Don King himself.

Of course she was wrong, but that's testament to how well Rhames played this role, and, as you say, literally became Don King in this movie.
