Venue?

Does anyone know the venue in which this film was shown – theaters or cable?

I found this on VHS for 99 cents in the clearance bin of a video store, and it didn't have a rating on it but apparently it's rated R. It feels a bit like a broadcast or cable movie, though some of the language would preclude it from network TV.

This is a decent, though ultimately downbeat, romantic drama that could have been better. The performances are strong, but I found the writing a bit heavy-handed. Diane Keaton is always a thrill to watch, but her character's speechifying gets tedious. 6/10 stars from me.

Hi WarpedRecord,
This was an independent movie that wound up going directly to Starz. I remember the night it premiered. I'm a big fan of Diane, and I was anxiously waiting for this movie to be released. I found it disappointing. But I have watched it more than once and it's not terrible.

Thanks for the details, TVmovieViewer! I could this this being intended for theatrical release but winding up on cable instead.

I'm a huge fan of Diane's also, and I'd follow her to the ends of the earth, but I also found this disappointing though watchable. I found her character rather grating; she played it fine, but it was overwritten. Had they focused strictly on the Diane Keaton/Sam Shepard characters instead of weaving in the other couples, I would have enjoyed this more.

Thanks again for the details.
