Criterion should release this!

At this point The Criterion Collection is more about saving films than releasing bon-a-fied classics. I've been noticing that they are slowly snatching up great films that have been ignored and never given a proper home video release. Gregg Araki's "Nowhere" certainly qualifies. They don't have a single Araki film in their canon and this would make the perfect addition. Granted, I've never seen it, but I think it would be the perfect opportunity to honor the director and bring the film to American audiences. It's never had a home video release in the States and Criterion should do it justice.

Who's with me?

I love this movie so I obviously agree, but I think even people who don't like the film would be unable to deny that it fits their criteria. You're right, Criterion isn't about just releasing classic, beloved films, but also about bringing wild cult movies like this that are kind of lost in the ether to a larger audience.

and don't forget to try the dipping sauces. They really bring out the ham.

I'll third this. It needs a release and would be a good fit with Criterion.

Nowhere was released on home VIDEO back in the 90's. There are VHS copies floating around out there. It just wasn't released on DVD here in North America (region 1), due in large part to music licensing fees.
