Kerry turned more tricks to get money for Ash House...she left the children's home by taxi and went down to Bournmouth to Ash House. She didn't talk or say her name for over a week until one day she broke and sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. She told the lady everything. No-one was charged with anything that they did to her. She went on to do her GCSEs and went to uni.

The end was HEARTBREAKING....I cried for half an hour. Hope this helped?

In that scene I first heard Sinéad O'Connor's 'In this heart', a beautiful acapella song, which played on the radio when Kerry was sitting silently at the kitchen table.
The whole scene broke my heart, too.
I still think about No Child Of Mine when I hear 'In this heart'.

Agreed - incredibly powerful ending. I wept for Kerry, and when the social worker put her arms around her and Kerry hugged back my heart just broke. Finally she could start to trust again and had someone who cared. The only other person who had cared up until then was her teacher.

The ending Kerry got some what closure but sadly her attackers are scum of the earth and will get karma for what they put Kerry through and no child deserved to be abused like that
