True Cyberpunk Setting

OK so yah the story was lame but it's worth watching for the background events and the environment! A close representation of Nite City if you know what that meens.

You got me with Nite City, but you're right: the settings in Nirvana were real trippy. If only the entire Metrotown in my city would... ah *beep* it, our lives can't revolve around sitting around in a room with superfluous black lights, smoke, high on XTC while listening to hardcore trance. It's too awesome.

I would even go to extremes with this one. I lot of people say it is a "true cyberpunk movie". While I would agree with that, I would even go further. It is one of the rare examples that actually makes this a cyberpunk movie.

A lot of ppl (mostly critics) will argue that Blade Runner is the one true cy<berpunk flick. While it is one of the most decent and outstanding movies within the bigger genre, it is hardly cyberpunk.

This makes Nirvana stand out. The combination of this futile personal quest combined with the vaguie value of an entity that can not be clearly defined makes this flick an actual cyberpunk movie, while (as great as it is) Blade Runner is "just" a semi-dystopic Sci-Fi flick and Johnny Mnemonic is a mildly neat ransack of Shadowrun.

So yes, in many regards this italioan production can and must be considered the only real CB-flick around.
