Just wondering (John C. Reilly)

Does anyone know/have any theories on why he was uncredited? His character didn't really do much until the scene where he starts hunting down McGregor (before then it was mainly just shots of his face), but his role seemed just as large as Brad Dourif's (he was great in this one) or Lauren Graham's. I just found it kind of interesting that he was uncredited, and maybe there's a reason behind it.

Good question. Although Reilly wasn't at his peak as a character actor at that time, maybe he realized that the movie stunk pretty bad and may have asked that his name not be used. Since that movie was made, he has become one of the best character actors in the business.

The movie itself was so slow paced I almost fell asleep several times. This movie has to rank as one of the biggest waste of a talented cast.

McGregor is one of the most believable actors in the business. That kid's got some talent.

That makes sense. Thanks!

I did enjoy the movie somewhat, but I agree that much could have been done better. A bunch of scenes were filmed very awkwardly, and many of the characters weren't very well-developed. And I haven't scene the original version yet, which is supposed to be ten times better than this version (honestly, I rented it mostly because Lauren Graham was credited on the VHS box, and I wanted to see her in a pre-Gilmore role).

And ya, McGregor is a pretty great actor.

I should preface this by saying I thoroughly enjoy this movie every time I see it. The performances are all great and I love the whole cast-some really great actors.
I can't believe no one has questioned this explanation in 5 years? Really? John C. Reilly thought this movie stunk so bad he refused to have his name put on it. I don't think so...I'm gonna do some more research as I find this odd too but I gotta say it again, REALLY???

I honestly thought it was Randall 'Tex' Cobb, who played Charles Dance's mute henchman in The Golden Child and a biker in Raising Arizona.
