Was Miguel Ferrer turned into a vampire?

Upon rewatching the movie for the first time in over a decade, the vampire forces Miguel Ferrer to drink his blood. I'm guessing he didn't do so just to spook him. It is the process of making him a vampire. I'm suspecting that if the movie was allowed to continue past its ending, Miguel Ferrer would return as a vampire. Which is for me a happy thought for I very much liked his character. I love it when they give us a movie with a main character protagonist hero that has no conventional redeeming qualities. We get to see a man of no real morals in the spotlight for the duration of the movie, and he is not without his charms. There's a very dry and dark and mean spirited humor to the things he does, and since this is a fictional character and not a real life person, I unapologetically love the style and sass of Miguel. I'd be very glad if he came back as a vampire in the end.

Vampire blood has, in addition to turning a person into a vampire in certain series, also acts as a drug of some sorts that can cause hallucinations, kind of like in True Blood. In this instance, drinking a vampires blood causes a person to witness their own personal hell, as everyone that Dees saw were his own "victims" that he used in his tabloids to make it to the top.
