the great Gandolfini

SPoiler ahead!ANybody noticed this, the scene where Joey (gandolfini) tells he's caught with his hand in the cooky jar. The whole scene, I saw just Gandolfini, I saw him turn in to the sneaky ways of Tony Soprano. I didnt even. see the other two anymore, Garcia tried to save himself by raising his voice, but hell no....
Who agrees? Gandolfini one of the great actors of our days!!!

reply

I liked him when he was the guy what gives the puppets to the hands on old Muppets shows.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

Gandolfini was good. (Did you notice how many other cops in this movie were mobs in The Sopranos? And that Uncle Junior was the judge?)

But Ian Holm was FABULOUS. He stole every scene he was in.

reply

Just watched it...and I noticed the same thing. Lots of actors that went on to do the Sopranos.

What is a "cooky"

reply

That was bloody Tony Soprano I saw in Night Falls On Manhattan, Gandolfini played it almost identically. Could it mean that, despite the OTT post-mortem praise, the guy didn`t really have that much in the way of range, after all?

I strongly disagree with Franz.
I would recommend the following:
The Mexican
Surviving Christmas
8MM
Last Castle
Burt Wonderstone

Seconded!

And there's much more!

His last couple of films, "The Drop" and "Enough Said" are really great, give them a try.
Also, his character in "Killing Them Softly" is what made the film for me.

Cheers!

reply

I liked how "Enough Said" showed his range, but the film itself was boring. I (and Mrs. htown) were extremely disappointed. Ending sucked also.
