If you like 'The Nepew' you might also like...

For those of you who really enjoyed "The Nephew" you might also like "The Secret of Roan Inish" It's an older film but just as enjoyable. It's an odd little tale loosely based on Irish Folklore. Like The Nephew, it's a family orientated film with beautiful scenery of Ireland's country side. A wonderful little treat! Check it out if you haven't seen it already!

Wow, it has been years since I have seen this film. The details of the plot have escaped me but I remember enjoying it very much. Thank you for the reminder. One to rent again (o:

Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me out. Im trying to remember what happened at the end of THe Nephew. I know Chad went back to the us and gave Joe the letters, but was there any specific conclusion to the film?

*****SPOILER*****

Chad didn't actually go back to the states. Joe and his uncle make nice and go to the pier to convince him to stay...and he does.

"Negro?" How old are you?? Sheesh.

Your heart was broken somewhere along the line. No doubt. If you can find a way to take the responsibility of mending it your hatred for 'the other' (which is always a reflection of internalized self hatred, BTW)will disappear. Like magic. I promise. Heck, we all have *beep* to work on, no? One step at a time, one step at a time. Try reading "Saved By The Light" by Dannion Brinkley. It might feel like a stretch, in light of your post above, but it can help you, if you choose. But of course you do not have to choose.

(Maybe I'll head back to the Ivory Coast. Oh yeah, I've never been there! But my Irish ancestors, who I was delighted to learn of, maybe they have? I'll have to check with my aunt, see if she knows - hmmmmmm....)
