I know these films are completely different to each other, but in terms of the treatment of the best-friends-falling-in-love, which film do you like best?
I like both films, but I prefer When Harry Met Sally. Much more charming in my opnion!
it's a tough call...they are both one of my favorites! I just watched My Best Friend's Wedding yesterday again though, and fell in love with it even more, so I will have to go with that one.
omg you just picked my two favorite movies! But since When Harry Met Sally is my second favorite movie of all time and My Best Friends Wedding is third then of course im going to have to go with that.
I'd definitely choose When Harry Met Sally. To me it's a classic best-friends-to-lovers romance film. They actually show the development of H and S's relationship through the years which makes it more appealing.
I hope you are joking. There is no comparison.....even the title credits of 'My Best Friend's Wedding'........a music video for the Dusty Springfield classic, "Wishin' and Hopin' -- is better than the entire movie of "When Harry and Sally."
PS. I don't really like Billy Crystal all that much. A little, OK, but not a lot. Meg Ryan, yes. BC, no.
When Harry Met Sally...there was no petty backstabbing and sabotage in that one. Harry and Sally are truly friends who support each other for YEARS before realizing they love each other.
MBFW is just a pathetic woman being downright evil to her best friend in an attempt to destroy his relationship with his fiance. Like I said, pathetic.

While it is good that the narrative recognizes that what she did was bad, it still felt kinda icky to me and it's supposed to be comedic in many parts which I felt it wasn't. WHmS avoided a lot of the pitfalls many modern romantic comedies fall into which I commend it for.
