Goof involving Dennis Miller? (possible spoiler)

Near the end of the film when Dennis Miller's character was working his way thru the well-lit (!) 140 year old tunnels under the White House, a red laser illuminated his left shoulder and he fell in pain.

There was no gunshot sound. (At least I didn't hear one.)

Did anyone else catch this apparent gaffe?
