David Morse: Wonderful Actor (SPOILERS)

(SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!

I've admired David Morse' films for years. I remember first seeing him in "Winnie", as the sweet mentally-challenged boyfriend of Winnie, played by Meredith Baxter.
He was so wonderful in that role! I liked his loving character in this film so much that I even named one of my pets after his character "Thomas Carr." :)

As for this film, while you can agree that Frank McGrath was wrong in involving all those people who had nothing to do with what happened, you begin to feel more and more sympathy for his character as the film goes on . I mean, who didn't shed a few tears after his ex-wife ripped him a new one by not only not allowing him to go to his daughter's funeral, but berating him in public because his check to the funeral parlor bounced! HELLO!! What an f-ing bit....

And then he replies "its not enough that I'm all alone, and lost my daughter...."
Whew!! *tears and more tears there*

And at the end, you wish that he had just done what Peter Norton's character had said and surrendered right away.

Mr. Morse is a great actor, and I hope to see him in many films to come.

You aren't telling me anything new. I think David Morse is one of the most underrated actors out there. I thought his role in this movie was superb. Personally, I would have given my left leg to be able to play the part of Pia Postman. How intimidating Frank was to Pia! "You will confess, and I will execute you" WOW! Marg was one lucky woman to have played that part. I was quite dissappointed with the ending. But the rest of the movie was intense. I have been a huge fan of David's ever since I saw him in The Green Mile. Bravo to your post!

My Green Mile Man Brutal, (David Morse), I love that thing you do!!

He been great from the begining. An early standout in the tv show St Elsewhere back when he and Denzel Washington were on the show.I don't think he's ever given a bad performance.

I just watched this movie last nite, and while I can't say I was crazy about the movie itself (it seemed a bit trite to me), I thought David Morse did a really incredible job

No matter how out-of-control the rest of the acting got, he stayed centered and focused, and delivered a steady, broken character who never strayed into melodrama

The scene that really broke my heart was at the end -- as everything was just coming apart, he (the character) was 'unconsciously' burying his face in Pia's hair. Just that little gesture, that little bit of seeking human contact, for a character who was so completely isolated and alone... It was an unexpected gesture (I mean, his character HATED her character) and yet so REAL that seeing it was like a punch

Mr Morse never fails to surprise, and he always makes more of his characters than you would have guessed was there

I think except for 'The Seafarer', this may be the best work of his I've seen (I know that's very subjective, but this is just my opinion)

If you like David Morse (and who doesn't :) ), this is one to see
