I thought walken's character died?

I'm not sure if this was changed but i remember seeing it in the cinema and walken ended up in a bodybag which I thought was hilarious though inapproprate, on the dvd release he gets taken away on a stretcher which was more apt to the family audience. Was it just me that saw this?

I bought the vhs for my kids years ago. I've watched it many times, always makes me laugh heartily.
My memory was that Walken was taken out in a stretcher, as though he had gone mad.

Only Christopher Walken could pull off a scene like that...

I had a feeling he was going to eat the rat turd but I was still in stitches when he did it .
