Great film, stunning cast. Story behind film does anyone know?

I have seen this flick maybe 5 times and it never gets old. But the plot holes get weird.

Such as why didn't Clare go back and kill the "John Ritter" character? There are a lot of those problems with the script but not the movie.

I love how at first it seems like your watching a play. Great action and Stanley Tucci almost steals the movie.

It is also a stunningly cast film "Philip Seymore Hoffman" in a small supporting role. Almost all the players were about to explode career wise or their just great character actors your always happy to see on film.

Also this really is one of John Ritter's greatest roles. Talk about playing brilliantly against type! I am in a 12 step program and his super evil mogul who sell's tons of books called "The Step" I thought was hilarious. Ritter "Some programs have as many as 7 steps, some even have 12! With mine their is only one easy step won't you take that with me" smiles like a new age shark. That man had talent.

As far as the story behind the movie, it must be great. Something happened at the end like maybe they ran out of money or something. Their just seem like to many loose ends. Like why does Clair not go back and kill John Ritter? There are other easy holes to see. Also did the film feels like a play for the first 20 minutes at the gangs headquarters but than bang. People are having really fantastic shoot outs with Stanley Tucci character Nick who is not a guy you want to bother while he is counting a suit case full of money.

Anybody have any info about the film?

Thanks

I don't know if killing Wexler/Ritter's character was that essential since you took out all of his muscle and The Boss's muscle. I can see why settling up with the Boss was important though because he turned his back on her and took Duncan's word over her although they had been friends forever.
