A documentary about a French sanatorium where the inmates rehearse and perform an annual summer play. Philibert's recording equipment feels much more present than it is in his other films, but he remains a quiet observer, never intrusive. He doesn't make things happen like Nick Broomfield's camera. He doesn't preach.
