Weird Liam Neeson flashbacks...
Well, it's not the first time Neeson has played a scoundrel-turned-benificent-factory-owener. Difficult to rid myself of the image of Ralph Fiennes playing Javert...

I feel like you just read my mind .
This movie could have felt like another SL if Ralph Fiennes played Javert.
This performance reminded me a lot to his portrayal of Oscar Schindler.
I like spurious comparisons - glad it's not just me. And of course Les Mis would work very well in WW2, as a French film-maker has already demonstrated...
A much more tasteless comparison comes from the character of Tony Stark in 'Iron Man'. He's a playboy arms-manufacturer who is awakened to his responsibilities to the weak by a man who looks rather like Ben Kingsley and then devotes his fortune to philanthropy... uncannily similar to Oskar Schindler apart from the inclusion of powered armour. Not that I don't think Schindler couldn't have used some powered armour, you understand.
