How on earth can there be so few threads for this movie? I absolutely adore it! It's honest in a way so few films are. It has the happy ending viewers look for without having that 'canned' feel. The actors' chemistry creates a world that you can easily believe. Dagnabbit, am I the only one totally in love with this movie?

shareSultans of Swing was releases as a demo in 1977 and was EVERYWHERE in london during that time. The huge response to the demo is what got the Dire Straits signed (the song was re-recorded and released in 1978 on a major). I think that its very fitting that the song was played as it was part of british music at the time. Oh how music has changed. And why shouldn't knopfler use his own hit song? He wrote the majority of the score and music regardless....

you can also buy it pretty cheap on amazon, I just got it in the mail a few days ago, and like the angry "no subtitle" people, I finally got to but the subtitles on and see what everyone was saying.
shareyeah I just got this movie and watched it. Great flick in my opinion. I will have to turn on the subtitles the next time I watch it. I just didn't think to do it the first time around. I could understand a few of the thigns in french but not much. People just post more on the film, it's great. Hilarious too!
