My VHS copy is different to my DVD

Its *beep* i grew up watching the VHS version and i've been watchin the dvd and notice tiny little differences.

They usually are just extra shots of the more explicit violence. 2 changes that bother me is when Jay chases down the perp and he dives of the ledge n the VHS he evaporates in the DVD he doesn't. The other is jeebs calls Kay an insensitive prick in the VHS but an insensitive jerk in the DVD.

It would seem that the DVD is an adults cut of the film n the VHS is more for children but i dont get why the word Prick is more child friendly than Jerk.

My main point is growing up with different versions of movies and trying to find them again later. Other movies i have on DVD that are different to VHS counter parts are Directors cuts, which are different to theatrical releases. I like the theatrical releases better, the directors remove scenes from the film for a reason so the movie as a whole is better. When they release the directors cut they put all *beep* back in and the movie drags.

Its almost impossible to find theatrical cuts of films nowdays I liked the theatrical ending to the film 1408 but cant find it anywhere.

My point is, i wish whoever is in charge of releasing films to DVD leave them alone to the theatrical releases the movies we fall in love with and know rather than changing the crap outta them for the DVD. Or release theatrical and directors cuts separately.
