I read somewhere that she lost lots of weight to get better movies roles then ended up regretting it and hating herself for buying into hollywood(paraphrasing)... I just wonder if she ever regretted any of her movie roles, like this one. I love the movie, but it never really seemed her style. She doesn't seem the romantic type. I wouldn't mind being wrong though.

Miss Garofalo was in The Truth About Cats And Dogs...and that is a very romantic film.Miss Garofalo is really the female star of that film who has a number of romantic scenes with this film's male lead Ben Chaplin. I think that The Matchmaker(1997) is my favorite film that she's in(this film is as touching as it is hilarious).

She never trashed The Matchmaker like she did some of her other work (like The Truth About Cats and Dogs and Mystery Men).
The film is decent. Not a masterpiece, but a good watch if you don't think about it too much and enjoy Ireland. The location photography helps the film immensely. Janeane is OK, but I agree, she isn't the romantic comedy type. She's too intelligent for that.
