who dies in this film? at the end, someone tells marcy someone died, who was it they were talking about?
shareNot to sound rude but - how could you not know who died? It's fairly obvious when while feeding his pigeons, Dermot clutches his heart and stumbles into his house to see the pictures of all his successful matches one final time. Not to mention, he sends Marcy his idea and she cries. Furthermore and probably the most important - the movie is called "The Matchmaker" how is it that you think it came by this title? The man was a key player throughout the first 3 quarters and disappears completely in the fourth - he's on the movie poster.
So, I'm thinking you were either asleep during most of the film or busy doing something else.

to further this point - if the OP was busy doing something else, they should rewatch the movie. fantastic little film, and this death scene makes me cry every time i watch it.
