why the *beep* did patrick stewart do this movie?

that's my entire post. I'm just curious as to whether anyone knows if he was forced to do it by studio contract or if he wanted the money . . . .

. . . . because he seems to be above this kind of material.

This movie is terrible its not like patrick stewart had any thing to loose but still, i keep thinking this movie is from the 80's.

This is a "Balloon Payment due on Mortgage" movie for Patrick. Why else would he do it?

[insert any male actor under 59] MUST play The Joker in the next Batman. Or Captan America.

I just listened to a Nerdist podcast interview with Patrick Stewart and he said that he thought it was a good script and was going to be the next Home Alone. He seemed to have more regrets about it being a flop than actually making it. In fact, he took so much ownership of the movie that I started to think he was involved with the production side.

My guess is that he lost a bet with Wil Wheaton. As a result, he was forced to make an exact remake of Toy Soldiers (1991).

(OK, not an exact remake, but pretty close.)
