if only people from the USA and or Europe would see this film

Culture (including cinema) is the key to global understanding and peace.
Governements and media should promote these images of the "East" and the "muslim world" instead of the images of hate and violence.

Because, unlike Chahine's quote, ideas have wings, but there are barriers and frontiers everywhere.

Let people see that we can get along, and that we are all fighting extremism.

I would like to arrange for more people in the USA to view this film. However, I have been able to obtain only a VHS copy on which the English subtitles are not legible on light background scenes because they are in white non-outlined text, and a DVD copy on which the English subtitles are legible but which has a poorly acted French-dubbed soundtrack.

Where can I find an NTSC DVD copy with the original-language soundtrack and with legible English subtitles? Help!

It's probably easier to get an all-region DVD player. (And that opens up the possibility of getting quite a few things that aren't available in Region 1 / NTSC, even if you limit yourself to disks with English subtitles and movies that are in English.)

The French DVD has options for either the Arabic or French soundtracks, and either French or English subtitles. (Note: Even the "original Arabic" soundtrack contains a couple scenes in French; namely the ones that take place in France when Joseph is there. One of those is the very beginning of the movie. So, since I didn't know that ahead of time, I was worried for a couple minutes that selecting the Arabic option on the DVD menu might not be working right.)

The French track is very well dubbed, I'm listening to it right now. (Contrarily to many dubbings in English.)
