No lawsuit?
I haven't seen this movie but the filmmakers should totally sue that new vampire chick flick for using the same name.

shareYou can't copyright a title, anymore than Paris Hilton can copyright a short phrase, like "That's hot", as she wanted to do, a few years ago.
shareReally? So if made another movie called "Die Hard" nobody could sue me?
shareThrer was a movie from the 90s Die Hard:Dracula. So yes.

Wow, that sounds interesting. But that name is slightly different where as in this case the names are identical. I’m sure there are copyright issues for stuff like this. I remember the creators of The Amityville Horror tried to sue the producers of Amityville 2: The Possession. The case was later dismissed because the whole name wasn’t used.
shareWell, there is also a movie from the early ninties called"Terminator 2"If you search terminator 2 on here,it takes you to the real one. But,it has been re titled for video as "Shocking Dark"

That's correct, Horror Junkie. You could make another movie called Die Hard, or The Godfather, or whatever you like, and not have to worry about being sued UNLESS you "borrowed" other things, like the script, score, or any other copyrightable parts.
"Hobson, I'm going to take a bath." "I'll alert the media."
I can't wait to make Star Wars!

Whats funny about is that in a deleted scene in the movie Vanity Fair, Reese Witherspoon meets her long lost son, who is played by Robert Pattinson!
shareCan't sue anybody for using the word 'twilight.'
shareNot gonna swear on this.
But i'm pretty that the in order for successful lawsuit, that there has to be an intent to deceive or trick someone to think object B is actually object A.
Thus if someone came along now and made another *beep* vampire movie call Twilight. there would be grounds. But if someone made a movie based on the John Campbell story Twilight. (or really any unrelated scenario) then its clear theres no intent to deceive.
Otherwise we wouldnt have both Micky D's or the song 'Old Mcdonalds farm'
