This movie tried to steal New Jack City's title, and Blade Runner's plot. :( SHAME THIS MOVIE!!!

I can see that, insofar as it shows a hostage situation with accompanying media circus. Thematically, though, Mad City stands on its own. "Ripoff" is an awfully strong word.
