Considering in real life he never cheated, he's dumb for going through with the murder. He was whipped and weak. He did everything his girl told him to. He was her bitch(excuse my language). He should've told her that he was messing around about the cheating, but he was too cold hearted to care about someone's life slipping away. It's sick. During the trial it seemed as if they got some kind of pleasure out of the whole situation, as if they thought they had control. Dumbasses. Now they're in jail for a very long time...most likely, life. Diane really let herself go she used to be kind of pretty, now she looks like sh!t. But hey, you can't do much when you're in prison I guess.

If the movie portrays the true dynamic of their relationship (whereby she seemed to control him more), then yes...he was a wuss to listen to her, and they're both devils for killing. However, I read in excerpts from the book online that he was actually more controlling of her. And, the movie was made before the trial even took place, and the production company (I believe ABC?) was ridiculed for having aired it so quickly, even before the trial. I don't know. And then I read, here on the boards, I believe, that he testified that he never even slept with the girl...but his girlfriend makes him kill her anyway???? That's nuts too.

Yes, David was a wuss and a p---!. How many guys cheat on their girlfriends in high school? Almost all of them. Do they kill them because their girlfriends say to? No. There was no reason for him to kill her. If Diane wanted her dead, she could have committed the murder alone. David was weak and easily controlled by his strong-willed and dominating girlfriend. Diane wore the pants. Pathetic!
