Karate-kicking the raptor??

How did a master filmmaker like Spielberg ever allow this monumental piece of stupidity into his film??

I have no idea. It's a very cringe-worthy moment that just feels so out of place in an otherwise decent film.

I think Spielberg threw this in as basically just "kellys moment to shine" because it literally serves no other purpose whatsoever. And I do agree, it is absolutely stupid and completely unnecessary.

I like how you can tell they are really parallel bars because how they flex, not just random pipes. How convenient those were there!

Theres a lot worse in this film than the scene you're describing. It's crazy of all the things wrong with this film this is the thing you choose to bitch about.

My guess is they did it for the kids, not the adult audience. Jurassic Park and the Lost World were always targetted to the 13-24 year old club. Definitely read the books though, Jurassic Park and the Lost World by Michael Crichton--amazing.

he was sequel-blind

It was a very woke moment. Throwing in the black girl as a daughter just for diversity points and then allowing her to kick the raptor through the wall. They even made a joke of it when the one guy asked, "Do you see any family resemblance here?"

A raptor probably wouldn't even budge even if Jean Claude Van Damme did a roundhouse kick to its face.
